The Pergamon Museum is part of the World Heritage of Berlin’s Museum Island and was built from 1910 to 1930. With more than one million visitors a year, it is one of the most popular museums in Berlin. It houses the antique collection, the Middle East Museum as well as the Museum of Islamic Art. The famous Pergamon Altar, which the museum was primarily built for, is supposedly accessible again from 2019 onwards (there are ongoing renovations in the museum until 2026).
In the meantime, world-famous art treasures such as the Ishtar Gate of Babylon can be admired in its gigantic glory.
